History Of The Gold
British Championship
A Brash Beginning
Plex Wrestling made their debut on September 13th 2008, But it wasn't until June 7th 2009 that history was made and the British Championship was born! On that night, a British legend took on a new up and coming star, both men on a mission to become the first champion. On one side, you had James Mason, with 20 plus years of in ring experience under his belt, as well as being a former WWE & TNA Competitor, and on the other you had Marcus Brash - just over a years experience, but trained by Pro Wrestling legend Lance Storm. On June 7th at The Connaught Leisure Centre in Aldershot, Marcus Brash defeated James Mason and became the first ever Plex Wrestling British Champion - Making History!
Marcus's biggest challenges were not over yet. On September 2009 at The Royal British Legion in Cranleigh, Marcus had one of the biggest challenges of his young career as he defended his British Championship against a true legend, not only in British Wrestling but in Pro Wrestling as a whole, the man of 1,000 holds Johnny Saint! At 'Evolution: World Of Saint' Marcus Brash over came the odds and defeated Saint to retain his championship in what was possibly the biggest win of this young man's career! On the same show, Brash would find out who - he thought - his next opponent would be as 'Superstar' Mal Sanders defeats James Mason for the number one contendership, but sadly he would be wrong.
A Star attraction
Sadly Marcus Brash's reign of Plex Wrestling would be cut short. In a sudden twist of fate at the December 2009 'Rock n Wrestling' Show, the number one contender Mal Sanders couldn't compete due to injury which left the door open for a star to enter and claim his spot - 'The Star Attraction' Mark Haskins! In a shocking debut Mark came to ring and demanded a shot at the belt , to which Brash accepted, and in his first Plex Wrestling match, Mark would defeat Brash and become the Brand New Plex Wrestling British Champion! Mark Haskins held the belt for a while, but sadly had to vacate it due to over sea's commitments - Haskins would later go on to sign with Dragon Gate in Japan & TNA Wrestling in America.
The Return
After the title was vacated in 2010 by Mark Haskins, The British Championship wouldn't be seen again until April 2014 when it was put on the line in a four man tournament which featured Ian Logan, James Mason, Darren Saviour and Chris Andrews, which was won by the Hometown boy Ian Logan. Logan would then go on to defend the title against long time rival Andy Boy Simmonz.
Logan would end up being stripped of the title in 2015 when Plex Wrestling went on a Hiatus , but would end up fighting in the finals of the #KingOfTheBrits in September 2015. Sadly Logan would be unsuccessful in regaining the belt which would end up being won by Chris Brookes.
Unfortunately, Brookes wouldn't last very long! In October 2015, Jonny Storm would become the first ever Plex-ceed Wrestling Champion and in November 2015 he made history when he went on to defend Chris Brookes for the British Championship and become the first ever Double Champion in Plex Wrestling History!
